Transportation, lifting and assembly of 130 tons concrete beams at the Nahal Refaim bridge in Jerusalem
The project's description:
In order to build a bridge over Nahal Refaim in Jerusalem, the engineering projects division was required to transport, lift and assemble prestressed concrete beams weighing 130 tons.
The transport was carried out from the Shapir plant in Etzionah to Jerusalem in a dolly formation. This configuration allows mobility and maneuverability with the beam in an optimal way along the transport route.
To execute this transport, road surveys, submitting and obtaining permits were carried out with the various road authorities in Israel as well as coordination with the police.
We transported the beams to the destination with the help of a police escort one by one and accumulated the beams to an appropriate amount on the day of the lifting.
Two cranes were positioned at the job site and lifted the beams into place.
The process was repeated until the end of the project.
