Tzafit power station
The project's description:
Transportation of two generators weighing 361 tons each, two turbines weighing 385 tons each and two transformers weighing 272 tons each from Ashdod port to the Tsafet power plant.
A transport company received a request from ALSTOM to transport 6 heavy loads to the power plant, which is being built for Dalia Energy. The transport configuration was determined as beam-supported transport (the "giant"). The challenge - in order to adapt the transport configuration to the road conditions on the transport route, it is necessary to change the transport configuration without the use of cranes so that in the first part of the route, where there are many bridges, the loads will be transported on the large beam support with 24 axles and in the second part of the route, where there are many bends, the loads They will be driven on a 16-axle support.
Our engineering department has developed the ability to transfer the loads from those supported to the elephant's legs and from the elephant's legs to the supported ones carrying out the transport and this, as mentioned, without the help of cranes.
When the cargo ship arrived at Ashdod port, the cargo was unloaded and stored in the port on elephant feet.
The transport took three days. In coordination with and accompanied by the traffic police, we transported the loads to the point of changing the transport configuration. There, with the logistical support of a transportation company - Habitat Ofer, we arranged the area and moved the loads from one supporter to another supporter with the help of the elephant's legs and jacks. The next night we transported the loads to the power station.
